We're less than four weeks away from our
SPRING IT ON 5K Walk/Run.
It's going to be a fabulous event, and we hope you and your family will join us Saturday, March 15 at 8:00 a.m. at the NC Research Campus.

As soon as we receive your check, you will be officially entered. If you would like to pay online by credit card, please select the "Register Online" option.
We are offering group discounts for teams of 15 people or more. Please see your principal for more information about getting the group discount.
All proceeds benefit the Kannapolis Education Foundation, so it's a great way to have fun, stay healthy, and support our schools.

February 10, 2014 This Saturday, February 15 from 9:30 AM - 4 PM, Historic Rural Hill will host the 38th North Carolina Troops and others for the 4th Annual Civil War Winter Encampment. See what winter life was like for local soldiers during the Civil War at this FREE day of fun and informative history. Watch as the "38th Boys” demonstrate line and skirmish drills, discuss the history of flags, uniforms, rations, mail services, pay rates, new inventions and much more! Rural Hill's own brigade of historical docents will also be on hand demonstrating what life was like at home for those not enlisted in the war. Blacksmithing, woodworking, cooking, and spinning demonstrations continue throughout the day. Visitors may also tour the farm and take a scenic hike on the 2.25 mile trail. While the day's events are free to all our visitors, donations are greatly appreciated and will go toward the advancement of educational programs at Rural Hill. Celebrating more than 250 years in history…Rural Hill is located at 4431 Neck Road (off Beatties Ford Road ) in Huntersville, 28078. The former homestead of Major John and Violet Davidson, the 265 acre site is maintained and promoted by Historic Rural Hill Inc. and features annual events such as the Rural Hill Scottish Festival and Loch Norman Highland Games, the Rural Hill Amazing Maize Maze, the Rural Hill Sheepdog Trials, and the NC Brewers and Music Festival. Historic Rural Hill Inc. is a non-profit organization supported through membership and donations, and with proceeds from its events utilized for the preservation of Historic Rural Hill and its education efforts. Spring It On 5k Walk/Run Registration Now Open!!

This is going to be a great event and proceeds from the race will directly benefit all KCS students! Online registration is open until midnight, March 13, 2014. You can also register in person the day of the event, Saturday, March 15, 2014.
Event participants registering as a team, please contact Anne Treanor at anne.treanor@kcs.k12.nc.us or call 704-933-2619 for specific instructions. The discounted team price for approved teams is $15 for each team member.
