Thursday 1/14/16

There will be a forces and motion unit test tomorrow.  Students can study the vocabulary cards that I sent home last week as well as review content in the assigned DE videos that I have assigned online.  If you have Netflix students can watch the Bill Nye Videos about Gravity, Motion, Friction, and/or Momentum to review the concepts that they will be assessed on tomorrow.

Students were given a yellow paper today about the Parent Night that we are hosting next week.  If you plan to attend Parent Night next Thursday at 5:30 please let us know so we can have enough pizza for your family to enjoy.

Tomorrow is Panthers day at KIS.  Students are allowed to wear their NFL Gear (NO HOODIES)  to school tomorrow as long as it is school appropriate.

Free Community Event at the end of the month

Moose Pharmacy in Concord has you covered! Join us on January 30th from 10am-1pm for a medication take back event!

Activities Include:

  • Medicine Take Back Event: The medicine drop is a great opportunity for you to get rid of your old, expired, and unused medications in your medicine cabinet!

    • Unused drugs thrown in the trash can be retrieved and abused/illegally sold.
    • Medications flushed down the toilet can contaminate the water supply.
    • The majority of teens abusing prescription medications get them from their friends/relatives medicine cabinets!

  • Car Seat Checks: Buckling children in age- and size-appropriate car seats, booster seats, and seat belts reduces the risk of serious and fatal injuries.

    • Bring medications to our event and you will get one free raffle ticket for a chance to win a brand new Graco 3 in 1 car seat.
    • Certified car seat technicians will be available to check safety seat installation and answer questions.

  • Fingerprinting: Fingerprinting kids is a way to maintain reliable identification data that can be used if a child goes missing.

    • Fingerprints serves as a definitive way to identify your child for their entire life, since they don't change as your child grows.
