I hope you are enjoying this break as much as I am. I wanted to share some things that have reminded me of your students and school.
I have had some time to catch up on listening to some podcasts and thought parents and students could both enjoy this one:

I really connected with the parts where they discuss the science in everyday life and failures as valuable learning experiences. My thoughts were that some of you may have a long car ride in the next few days and this would be a great way to fill it.
I have also enjoyed watching a few different things on Netflix that connect with things we are learning in school.
Brain Games, Cosmos, Ultimate Guide to the Presidents, Men Who Built America. Remember to turn on closed captioning whenever you can to sneak some text (and reading) into their screen time.
Below is some information about a summer program in the Raleigh area that I think sound great.
The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences is still accepting applications for Boys in Science and Girls in Science summer camps!
These week-long overnight camps are for middle-school students who love science and nature. Boys in Science Piedmont Ed-Venture, for rising 7th and 8th grade boys, is scheduled for June 22-26. Girls in Science Piedmont Ed-Venture is for rising 6th and 7th grade girls and will take place July 6-11. Both camps are based at Blue Jay Point County Park, with an overnight camping trip to Hanging Rock State Park. Applications for this selective program are due April 13, so get your application in!
